Dr. Michael R. Manning is a radiation oncologist at Arizona Oncology, the largest cancer practice in Arizona that provides patients with advanced and compassionate medical oncology, radiation oncology, gynecologic oncology and hematologic services. With a refined skill set in radiation oncology, Dr. Manning maintains a special interest in head and neck oncology, and he also treats patients with gynecological cancer and soft tissue sarcomas. His experience and highly developed background in radiation oncology allows him to utilize some of the world’s most sophisticated treatment modalities that are intended to help improve patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Manning performs stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy procedures; these approaches were primarily used to treat brain tumors, but they are now being used to treat cancer in other parts of the body. The method is known as stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). Renowned for his research initiatives, Dr. Manning has written more than 50 scientific pieces which have all been published in major medical journals. In addition to his published works, Dr. Manning has presented lectures on his research findings at conferences around the world.
